Alternate Recipe
An alternate recipe that I have used is: 1 part grenadine syrup 1 part Creme de Cacao (can be found for cheap) 1 part Licor 43 (also fairly cheap) Layer red (grenadine), then black (Creme de Cacao), then gold (Licor 43). Helps to pour slowly, over a spoon. Tastes like a chocolate-covered cherry, quite delicious and deceptively strong. Works best in a tall/double shot glass to see the layers better, and since the shot doesn`t bite too much it still goes down smoothly. Highly recommend this recipe - you can buy all three ingredients for 2/3rds the price of a bottle of Grand Marnier.
